[kjv] The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
[bbe] <To the chief music-maker. Of David.> The foolish man has said in his heart, God will not do anything. They are unclean, they have done evil works; there is not one who does good.
[kjv] The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

[bbe] They have all gone out of the way together; they are unclean, there is not one who does good, no, not one.
[kjv] Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
[bbe] Have all the workers of evil no knowledge? they take my people for food as they would take bread; they make no prayer to the Lord.
[kjv] There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
[bbe] Then were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the upright.
[kjv] Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
[bbe] You have put to shame the thoughts of the poor, but the Lord is his support.
[kjv] Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
[bbe] May the salvation of Israel come out of Zion! when the fate of his people is changed by the Lord, Jacob will have joy and Israel will be glad.
